Andrei Stepanenko, general director of the Auction House of the Russian Federation:
“For the first time in the history of modern Russia, a major auction house with participation of state capital is emerging on to the enormous but rather closed and non-transparent market of antiques and works of art. We see our goal as making the procedure for selling works of art open and profitable for both the buyer and seller, and to make prices fair and adequate. The high reputation of the founders, the professional level and experience, and the client and technical base of the platform allow the Auction House of the Russian Federation to lay claim to successful realization of the project, and reach a leading position on the market of works of art. “The criteria for selection of lots at the upcoming auctions will primarily be the high artistic level of works, their historical value and authenticity”.
